Meet Our New Executive Director - Kapri Rabin

KAPRI RABIN has over 20 years of progressive leadership experience working in non-profit organizations including community health centres, social services and hospitals.

For the past 8 years she has worked as the Director of Health Services and the Director of Integration and Urban Health at Central Toronto Community Health Centre where  she was  responsible for developing and maintaining primary and specialized care for marginalized populations within the local community.   Specifically,  she was responsible for providing leadership and strategic directions for the urban health services; accountability for the effective and efficient management of over  30 staff; responsible for continuous quality improvement; financial management; developing and maintaining positive internal and community linkages and partnerships; collaborating and developing research and educational activities within the organization and the community.

In addition, Kapri has considerable experience in working with Boards of Directors and is the past President of the Board of Directors of St.Christopher House, a multi-service community agency.   She has a Masters of Social Work and a Master’s Certificate in Health Care Management.   Throughout her career,  Kapri has worked with a range of diverse communities whose issues include mental health,  substance use,  homelessness,  disabilities,  pregnancy and birth,  youth,  people living with the effects of trauma and abuse,  newcomer and refugee issues,  seniors and individuals with chronic diseases.   Among the strengths she brings to Street Health are knowledge and expertise in health,  social service and government operations,  social determinants of health,  advocacy,  health promotion and community development,  health system planning and population health principles,  excellent problem solving,  organizational and leadership skills.   Kapri’s work demonstrates her commitment to working with community stakeholders to build capacity for self-advocacy and partnerships.   She values open and transparent communication,  collaboration and mutual accountability and supports staff to work in partnership with each other and with clients to provide exceptional programs and high quality service delivery.
