5:00 - 6:30 pm
In Toronto, we have already lost many clients as a result of the opioid overdose crisis.
As an emergency measure Street Health opened an Overdose Prevention Site (OPS) in June 2018. The site provides a safe and hygienic space for people to consume drugs and functions as an alternative to using drugs in streets, laneways and local bathrooms.
Since opening, the OPS has seen more than 600 clients, reversed 20 overdoses and linked many clients to other lifesaving resources including healthcare, shelter, housing and drug treatment services.
We are currently applying to transition over to the Ontario government’s new model of Consumption and Treatment Services, extend our funding and continue this important resource.
As part of this application process, we would like to invite you to our OPS – OPEN HOUSE to provide an opportunity to take a tour, meet our staff and learn more about our services.
